Just our cup of tea! Charity coffee morning raises £££ for Dorothy House
Our Chippenham practice hosted a coffee and cake morning on Wednesday 28th June to raise money for hospice charity Dorothy House.
Enjoying freshly baked goodies made by the team, and cakes that had been donated by local business Boswells, we were thrilled with the turn out from the local community who attended to support this worthy cause.
Emma Woodhouse, Practice Manager at Haine & Smith in Chippenham said; “We were overwhelmed with the response we had to the coffee morning. Thank you to everyone who attended, and thank you to all the staff and volunteers who baked cakes. It was wonderful to meet new people and have a chat over a cup of tea and slice of cake.”
Held in the Emery Gate branch, the team hope this will be one of many. People attended from neighbouring shops delighted to be able to not only take a break from their working day, but also contribute towards such a deserving charity.
The event has gone on to raise £71 which could fund an expert counsellor to run a support group session for young adults with a life-limiting illness helping them feel less alone.
Dorothy House who provide end of life care to adults either at home or in the hospice are always looking for donations from the public in order to keep delivering exceptional support to patients and their families. For more information please visit https://www.dorothyhouse.org.uk/
